Introducing Marc Brown, Director of The EPOS Bureau

I bring many years of experience across EPOS, retail, and hospitality technology, supporting independent businesses to get the most value from their systems in a practical and straightforward way. What attracted me to The EPOS Bureau was its commitment to long-term customer relationships and providing dependable solutions — values that closely align with my own.

Having grown up in rural Norfolk, I started my Point of Sale career with a local cash register dealer supporting independent retailers — many of them had seasonal businesses that relied on getting the most from busy periods and staying resilient through quieter months. That early experience shaped how I think about retail technology: it must be dependable, practical, and genuinely supportive of how you trade.

I later spent 14 years running my own EPOS company in Hampshire, working closely with specialist retailers and hospitality outlets to help them grow sustainably. Across that time, one thing has remained constant: independent businesses succeed when their systems work with them, not against them.

In 2026, retailers will continue to face rising costs, tighter margins, changing customer expectations, and the need for clearer visibility across stock, pricing, and performance. My focus is ensuring your business solution helps you make confident decisions, operate efficiently, and stay agile — whether you’re managing seasonality, expanding your offering, or simply looking to trade more effectively day to day
